Our current utility systems, for the most part, is in need of a facelift. Many industry leaders see that and much of the discussion revolving around future systems has been theoretical and abstract. However, in some places, we may be seeing the start of a tangible change.
In New York, California and Massachusetts, the process of reformation has begun and each state is making strides towards a smarter system.
