Vancouver, Canada, August 29, 2018 – Legend Power® Systems Inc. (TSX-V: LPS), a global leader in voltage management technology, has completed the successful installation and testing of a remote monitoring and reporting capability in 30 current Harmonizer™ installations. These implementations are providing valuable insights about the Company’s ability to provide customers with significantly enhanced, real-time power performance data which they can use to further improve energy-management decisions. The new feature set is a fundamental component of a complete power Management platform for commercial buildings that is available to both existing and new customers via either purchase or monthly subscription.
Mark Petersen, Legend Power’s VP of Engineering, said, “Our customers have always purchased Harmonizers based on the proven savings that would come from reduced overvoltage waste and improved energy consumption. Performance validation used to be manual and take weeks but is now available to them ‘on-demand’. This innovative management tool accesses all of a building, or portfolio’s key empirical energy data to enable better decision-making by answering key energy-management questions.”
- How much energy am I saving?
- What consumption trend benchmarking does the data indicate for my building, or portfolio of buildings?
- What changes are required to make my energy use more efficient?
“This is an example of Legend’s ongoing evolution of an already smart product,” said CEO Randy Buchamer. “Responding to ongoing customer feedback, we are using these upgraded systems to provide customers with valuable data so they can better manage their buildings, and see Harmonizer benefits in real-time. We are monitoring and getting feedback on the 30 enhanced systems already in market, to continue to drive the iteration of the feature set. Building on the early success, Legend plans to further commercialize remote monitoring as an optional feature set for all new product purchases and as a retrofit for any of the Company’s 250+ installations to date.”
About the Remote Monitoring/Reporting System
The already ‘smart’ controller at the Harmonizer’s core can now send the data captured from its power meter to a central Legend database. The system then forwards the data to any web-enabled device and displays key customer metrics including: consumption, savings, maintenance status, operational and other
parameters.
The Remote Monitoring System refreshes the database in real-time and updates the user interface every minute. Similar systems in other applications typically only refresh data in five or 15-minute increments.
