Vancouver, Canada, June 28, 2016 – Legend Power Systems Inc. (“Legend”)(TSXV: LPS) today announced that the York Catholic District School Board (“YCDSB”) has become the eighth school board to deploy Legend’s “Harmonizer”, energy saving device.
YCDSB expects to reduce electrical costs by 5% with Legend’s proven Conservation Voltage Reduction technology. YCDSB, as part of its commitment to ecological sustainability and the efficient use of resources, has purchased and installed the Harmonizer in two of its 105 schools.
“It is estimated that Legend’s Harmonizer will help the York Catholic District School Board save over 123,000 kilowatt hours per year. The Harmonizer is a proven energy saving device that is easy to implement and allows our school board to put funds back into educating students”, said Norm Vezina, senior manager, Environmental Services, YCDSB.
Last year, the YCDSB was named the Top Energy Performing Board in Ontario by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority in its first-ever list, rating Ontario school boards’ energy efficiency. The Board has also received wide recognition for its leading environmental practices. Legend is pleased to be part of the YCDSB’s energy efficiency initiatives.
There are 141,000 primary and secondary schools in the United States and Canada with a combined annual energy budget of approximately $8.5 billion. Primary and secondary schools represent one of eleven major market-verticals in which Legend has established a track record of success.
Legend works closely with industry leaders like the YCDSB, to develop a strong market-specific adoption of the Harmonizer within individual verticals. Legend intends to actively pursue other accounts in this market vertical.
