Will 2015 be the year of the electric car?
Over the past couple of years electric vehicles have been building momentum, especially gaining recognition within the environmental movement. And while we fully support a shift towards a mode of transportation that is more environmentally sustainable, we are left to wonder if electric cars will ever have as much of a stake in the consumer market as gas fueled vehicles.
That said, electric vehicles frequently made the news throughout 2014, even populating quite a few headlines in 2015 so far. Below is a roundup of articles providing insight into the current landscape of electric cars, as well as into what the future may hold for these vehicles.
Electric Cars in 2014
- In December, Volvo unveiled its XC90 T8, a new model in its XC90 lineup that made headlines due to its claim to have the power of a SUV and the economy of a compact.

- After making headlines for its potential ability to charge a smartphone battery in 30 seconds (including this article from Reuters), Israeli startup, StoreDot, has now announced that they will be unveiling a battery technology which will enable electric vehicle to be fully charged within three minutes, possibly at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show.
