Vancouver, British Columbia, February 4, 2016 – Legend Power Systems, Inc. (TSXV: LPS), DP Murphy Hotels & Resorts (DPM) and Haven Consultants International (Haven) are pleased to announce the successful installation of Legend’s energy saving Harmonizer in DPM’s Charlottetown PEI Holiday Inn Express property. Legend’s Harmonizer is an innovative clean-tech offering that reduces energy usage through Conservation Voltage Reduction (CVR). With the installation of the Harmonizer, DPM has reduced their annual carbon footprint by 8 metric tons and are saving over $6,700 per year yielding an ROI of 20%.
“We are very pleased with the energy savings Haven have helped us achieve through the installation of the Legend Harmonizer. We are proud to be the first business in Canada’s Maritimes to utilize Legend’s innovative energy conservation solution” says Danny Murphy, Founder of DPM Hotel & Resorts. “We are currently looking at implementing the Harmonizer in our other properties and hope to see other local business follow suit.”
Power generation in Canada’s East is carbon intensive, relying on traditional fossil fuels such as coal to generate energy. The global quest to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is strong and gaining momentum. Energy conservation solutions, such as Legend’s Harmonizer, are one of the most economical ways for businesses to reduce their GHG emissions while also saving money and increasing bottom line profitability.
Legend has installed over 100 Harmonizers across North America. The installation at DPM’s Charlottetown PEI location marks the first in the Maritime Region, expanding Legend’s presence from Coast to Coast in Canada. Haven Consultants International, a Legend sales partner in Maritime Canada, has overseen the installation of hundreds of energy conservation retrofits in the UK and Europe and is working closely with the likes of DPM and other businesses to identify opportunities for savings with Legend’s Harmonizer.
Having earned the distinction of being the first hotelier in Canada to install the Harmonizer, and on the back of great results, DPM is working with Haven to evaluate the other properties in their portfolio.
