Harmonizer saves Energy in two Mississauga Apartment Buildings

 August 12, 2014

Toronto – Legend Power Systems Inc. (LPS.V) (“Legend”) is excited to announce the final results from a recently completed project with Pathway Non-profit Housing (“Pathway”), providers of affordable apartment rentals in the Greater Toronto Area.   Legend installed two Harmonizers, one in each apartment tower, which reduced Pathway’s energy usage by over 6%.   Pathway saw the Harmonizer’s energy saving potential in the high density residential sector and is now saving over $30,000 annually.

Pathway provides quality and affordable housing for over 230 residents in their two apartment towers.  Rising energy rates puts pressure on Pathway’s operating budget, making it a challenge to keep rental rates at an affordable level.  There are over 750 non-profit housing providers across Ontario challenged with rising energy prices while trying to keep rental rates low.

Pathway is a progressive organization and implementing energy saving technologies, such as Legend’s Harmonizer, is part of Pathway’s energy efficiency strategy.  Legend’s Harmonizer is an ideal solution as it addresses an entire building’s energy usage without disrupting residents.  Over the course of the Harmonizer’s 10+ year life expectancy, Pathway can expect to save in excess of $300,000, all of which can be redirected towards future building upgrades and energy retrofits.

“Reducing energy consumption in our two buildings is an important part of keeping rental rates down” says Roman Spector, Pathway Community Housing General Manager.  “The savings that the Harmonizer produces will help us increase our building improvement fund to ensure we are able to keep our building in good order, without incurring extra costs.”
